The rules associated with net interest earned in a major investment bank meant that actual earnings were not easy to predict, and the reasons for
any losses could not be quickly identified.A rapid analysis project was set up with the investment bank, to carry out a diligence and interview exercise with the fund managers. From this a concise
operating description of the complex investment process was produced, and the specification for an IT system was drawn up to provide management control over the interest earned, allowing the Bank to invest more
clearly. |
